Shimmer, so far in Paris, is having a moment – and Alessandro Dell’ Acqua wants his Rochas customer to shine brighter than most for spring/summer 2016. Metallic jacquards in acidic hues, glossy patent leathers and magpie-worthy lapel decoration were found on swinging Sixties cuts, while intricately embroidered beading sprawled across shifts in giraffe motifs (a surrealist accent that paid homage to the late Gala Dalì who, Dell Acqua told us, inspired the collection).

It wasn’t all razzmatazz however – the surfer sunsets peeking out from beneath tulle macramé and easy slip-on lace dresses offered a cooler, sports-luxe element to proceedings, but compared to last season’s 90th anniversary outing which was all pared-back posterity, this collection was positively party ready.
